Recently, Marianne Dey has been exploring pattern, shape and line in her work, and whilst her paintings have taken on a more abstract form, their essence remains rooted in her observations and responses to the natural world. She has exhibited at the RSW Open Exhibitions, takes part in Perthshire Open Studios & the Fortingall Summer Exhibitions. Marianne, a graduate of Edinburgh College of Art, is an Aberfeldy based artist who is predominantly known for her atmospheric en plein air landscapes. She spends a lot of time in the hills in Perthshire, and also the far North, where this particular painting was formed.
