Artist statement;

The freedom to be in nature with pencil and brush seeing the lives of nature’s creations unfolding, undisturbed in front of me is the ultimate experience. To come away from an encounter with my own unique impressions of that place and how it feels and to share that with others.

Paul was born and worked in Northumberland to a Scottish father who inspired his love of the place. He studied art at Newcastle College and Northumbria University. He also worked in countryside management and wildlife law enforcement giving him an intimate knowledge of the natural world and the wild places he has sought to portray through painting and printmaking. He now lives in Argyll and Bute and is engaged in work inspired by Scotlands landscape and natural world.
