Statement

I am a multi-disciplinary artist based in the Outer Hebrides of Scotland. My work emphasises nature connectedness, celebrating positive relationships between humans and more-than-humans. I enjoy inviting my environment to collaborate and shape its own authentic portrayal, utilising and celebrating its materiality and agency. In my my series Harvesting Light I worked in symbiosis with three extraordinary environments in North Uist, including an RSPB bird reserve situated on the machair. I utilised the harmful debris threatening each site to construct large site-specific camera obscuras, embracing each environment as the medium to record itself. The work aimed to encourage biodiversity to thrive as it should, by disposing of harmful debris upon completion and raising awareness on consumption and waste.
