Statement

The freedom for wild places to be themselves, provides me with an anchor that tethers my imagination to their physical and spiritual shelter in times of stress and worry. Knowing they are there, sheltering all of life that calls them home, waiting for me to wander in them, hear their sounds and touch their rocks, grass and water and feel their winds brush my skin on the outside brings peace on the inside and a love of all life in their landscape. To explore the shelter they provide, at all scales of life, animate and seemingly inanimate, is my theme. I simply cannot be, without them.

Biography

Photographer, writer, mountaineer based on the Isle of Skye. Passionate about poetry, having published The Little Book of Gaiku, a collection of my Gaelic haiku poems to accompany my wildland photographs. Having been climbing mountains for most of my life I can attest to the Gaelic saying that Anail a Ghaidheil air a'mhullaich. The soul of the Gael is on the summit.
