Fi has a strong awareness of the environmental impact of society upon glacier landscapes, and is keen that her alpine photography highlights both the ageless grandeur of the Alps, yet also it’s innate vulnerability to humankind’s impact. Through her images she is a valued contributor to the dialogue on environmental issues at www.GlacierHub.org, part of the Earth Institute and CRED at Columbia University, New York. Fi also regularly contributes to Alpine groups on social media and posts blogs on her photographic experiences. Fi says of her love of alpine photography and motivation:

We live in such an incredible world, with access to mountain regions which are undergoing immense change. The glaciers I visited as a child are now rapidly shrinking. There is an active debate surrounding this; my main hope is that featuring these beautiful alps and glaciers through my photography, will also draw our eyes upon those who live there. These alpine communities livelihood depends upon the glaciers which hewn these beautiful landscapes into being.

Fi is a British and Swiss Alpine Photographer, whose stunning snowy scapes have been exhibited at the Menier Gallery and the Brick Lane Gallery, London, as part of the Milan Expo, and also in the Alpine Museum in Zermatt. She takes her inspiration from a love of hiking and climbing formed from childhood visits with her family to the Swiss Alps and Scottish Highlands. Her interest in photography was formed through her Arts and Graphic Design experiences. She also credits her father, who was a keen amateur, as inspiring her sense of artistry and composition.
